April 24th Other Things
Abstract 384
Week 17 graffiti, flowers and other things and this is an ‘other thing’. It has been strange time in the aftermath of my covid infection. I stopped seeing for a while. That’s not to say I went blind but I couldn’t see the possibility of making an abstract image from simple elements. Gradually that type of ‘seeing’ has come back.

Woman Waiting
A rare shot for me, a person. Don’t do much with people and photography. When I did a 365 back in 2015 and I consciously decided to do mainly street photography which almost inevitably means people. It was really fun and at time challenging, however since the pandemic I find I’m reluctant to point a lens at a stranger on the street.
This photo is actually for the CD booklet for the second set of my poems that have been turned into songs by my friend and composer Simon Morecroft. The album will be released later this year.

Texture
Could be oil on water, could be many things. I just liked the texture and colours.

Padlock On Green
It is always surprising where an photo opportunity presents itself. This was on a box of signalling equipment on a railway station in Bristol. The rich texture of the green paint I found attractive. More texture again, might be a theme.

Flower Head
I don’t know what this plant is but a huge bush of it grows on the corner of the street and puts out these flowers every spring. I hope this one opens fully so I can photograph it again. If anyone know the name of the plant send me a message via the website.

Aquilegia
This flower looks like a group of birds and in fact Aquilegia is Latin for Eagle. The common name is columbine or granny’s bonnets. They come up every year and are just about slug proof.

Graffiti
Walked across the footbridge again and there was new graffiti to be captured.
Not sure I’d like to meet this character down a dark alley.
Right that’s the week 17 crop of pictures. Hope you enjoy them.
